Thats a no from Toronto. We would give you Nylander, Gardiner/Zaitsev and 2019 2nd/2020 1st for Doughty.

Doughty's contract will be an albatross in three years. Stay away from that by all means. Perhaps Carter at the deadline with retained salary, otherwise if I'm the Buds I don't bite.

No chance the Leafs do that deal, it would kill our cap.

Says the one who wants Schlemko and Smith-Pelly so much. Smith-Pelly I could see, but definitely not Schlemko. If LA was a little bit smarter, when Doughty's contract turns to his $11 million a year, that's going to take away from other positions. Where as if we would get rid of him for the offer SammyT_51 said, we get a Dman and a scoring threat, which is what LA needs. I get that Doughty is a leader, but do we really want to be paying him $11 million when he's going to go downhill soon? Williams deal would be a rental right now. I'd prefer to keep Amadio, he has potential, just look at 2015-2016, he scored 50 goals in 68 games, yes I get that it was a couple years ago and that the NHL is much different than the OHL, but still. Williams is 37, how much gas does he have left in the tank.

Doughty is the best defenseman in the league. He'll be worth every bit of the money. Trading him for an offensive dman who is pretty bad defensively and a guy who had 60 points 2 years in a row... the value isn't there and I rather Keep a great defenseman.

Yes so would I, but a couple years from now, Doughty is going to decline a lot. You'd rather spend around 10% of our salary cap for a guy who is going to decline a couple years from now. I get that we want Doughty to stay, but in the long run, his contract is going to be rough. LA is going to have to realize a rebuild is coming soon. Nylander would be perfect for the rebuild since he is 22, turning 23 on May 1st. Keep Doughty for this year, then when his contract goes up, try to trade him. And yes I know he wants to be a King for life, but contract has to get restructured if we want any salary cap money for other players.

I can't even read your full comments it's all nonsense. In a couple years Doughty will be 30, 4 years from now he will still be in his prime. Doughty is showing 0 Sign of slowing down anytime soon. He's 28 years old man and he's going to be just like Ray Bourque good till his last game. Not to mention the talent coming up in Clague and Strand. One thing Doughty can use is another Voynov and if he doesn't come back hopefully Clague can sort of mold into that. Nothing was more dominating than the 1-2 punch of Doughty and Voynov.

I meant by a couple years I meant 5-7 years from now. You are right that he is showing no signs of slowing down, I get that he is 28, but you don't know when a guy will slow down. For all we know, he could get hurt like Quick did, come back and not be as good as Quick has this season so far. And yes before you say that Quick will get back to normal, I know he will, just when is that going to happen. Hopefully soon.
My question to you, Why do you put these trades up everyday, they are the exact same trades like 3-4 times a day. You just name the post something different, it's kind of annoying to be honest.

Don't look at my posts then. There's always something different to my posts and a lot of thing stat the same because I feel they are thing that need to happened. Like bringing in Smith-Pelly. I feel we need that kind of 4th liner. Besides that I enjoy doing these posts so if you do not like them and they upset you that much I'd love to be on your ignore list.

Well, it's hard to not look at your posts because they are like every other one. smile And I do agree that Smith-Pelly would be nice. I don't know a whole lot about systems, but you really want him so I'm assuming he would fit our system very good? Would he be a good fit? I honestly have no idea tears of joy
