Let's just forget the trade (which I don't the Leafs would agree too), please tell what is the salary that the Hawks and Nylander would agree to. The Leafs don't seem to be willing to pay the alleged asking price from Nylander, why would the Hawks?

If Hawks want Nylander, start with Jokiharju

Why would you want Jokiharju over Saad? One proven good player with one outlier of a season and you'd rather go with the unknown? makes no sense

Jokiharju has top pairing talent, is right handed and responsible defensively and offensively and is ready. Saad is good, dont get me wrong, but he is LW, we have more than enough of those tho. He is not 60-point player and not a playmaker like Nylander.

Saad plays both wings, so you could very easily put him on the RW, even then Toronto has plenty of wingers. Nylander should be traded for a young NHL RD.

I think you may have kappanen confused with someone else..,. He is gritty as all hell.

With Tavares or Matthews I'm sure Saad is a 60 point player, but this is besides my point, I don't think it's a trade the Leafs do regardless. Part of that is how good of a fit Nylander is with Matthews - having a center-esque, and as you say playmaking winger allows Matthews to be more of a scorer. I'm just skeptic towards Jokiharju being that valuable of an asset. If I'm in a Vacuum I don't trade away Saad for 2 Jokiharjus is my point

It goes back to listening to Don Cherry for many years. Europeans especially fast ones have no grit. Nylander doesn't have any either because he is blonde, good looking and Swedish. The fact that Nylander was born in Calgary and was raised mostly in North America.....still makes him a "gritless Swede" in many folks eyes.
