Let’s face it, even in a rebuild there needs to be a solid corp group, a foundation to build around.
It was obvious that either Karlsson exit media session was either theatrics or he really wanted to stay. Who knows which?
Bottom line is that the management/ownership is not even qualified to run a Tim Hortons, let alone an NHL franchise.

Keeping Stone, Duchene, Karlsson as the foundation, dumping Ryan’s contract any way possible, and then building the young group over 2-3 years would have been the best plan for the team, the fans, the city, etc.

Moving Hoffman was a very good start, but they have failed miserably since.

Good luck to all my fellow fans in Ottawa. No matter how bad it gets, I can assure you that it will improve. In the Jackets case, it took about 12 years and 3-4 regime changes to get back to a respectable level.

I agree, it will always get better and for the Jackets I hope you win a series.
