You really can't count of mistake of the three picks as part of the Patches acquisition. I like Vegas getting rid of Tatar, but was it necessary to extend Patches...especially before this season even starts?

Theoretically yes that’s what they gave up for Pac. The Tatar trade was head scratching at the deadline last season with what they gave up. He didn’t work out but I think that partly cuz he was blocked by Neal Perron and Tuch to get top 6 min plus Haula playing well he didn’t get much of a shot to play in general. This season woulda been better for him tho but GMGM saw another opportunity to upgrade. He’s going for it. They had a ton of picks anyways plus a quality prospect group aand the roster has a good mix of pending RFAs, guys just getting to their prime, and a few older vets. Losing those picks and Suzuki won’t hurt their contention window.

its what the market was on tatar and thats what vegas paid. also vegas had assets. and they still do. mtl gets what they want, and vegas adds another elite goal scorer.

George McPhee had done what it takes to build a Dynasty but he was to greedy at the end and sacrifice a dynasty for this year return. I hope Vegas makes the final this year and next two years. After that it will be chaos.
