It's not a bad idea, but I don't think the oilers would say yes. If Myers had 3 years left on his contract (like nuge does) then I think Edmonton would say yes. But since he's an upcoming UFA I can't see it happening. The oilers think very highly of Nuge. He has great 2 way play, can play center or wing, he can keep up with McDavid, and he really took a step forward last year. I don't think Petan and Dano are enough to make up for Nuge's high value.

Nuge is in a prime spot right now to set career highs playing on Mcdavids wing, the only way that he is moved is for a winger like connors or ehlers. Myers would be a welcome addition, but not at the expense of losing Mcdavids potential "permanent" winger.

I agree with this statement, and would think that the Jets would have to send Roslovic instead of Petan AND Dano to make a deal for the caliber of player like Nuge. I also think that Trouba would be more appealing than Meyers, since Trouba is technically an RFA for that one year, and that gives the Oilers sole signing rights in 2019 off-season for a potentially 'better' deal to anchor a team's blue line (which both sides are better suited for).
