Once again, this post (and series of posts) is just for fun.

The Carolina trade could largely benefit both teams if the Wild trade for a younger center using a RHD (as I've done here). Carolina needs a 1C while their young guns develop and they could flip Staal at the deadline if they are out of the playoffs. Faulk adds a more physical element to the blue line and an offensive touch we could use, especially on our power play.

Eberle likely won't be on the Islanders after this year, so they move him for a very good LHD. It's possible an extension is in place with this trade, as Eberle checks the box for our right shot top 6 forward need.

I highly doubt the Oilers would ever trade Draisaitl because of his age and contract in addition to the fact they want to replicate what Pittsburgh has been able to do with Crosby and Malkin; however, trading Draisaitl could make a lot of sense for the Oilers. They have holes on the wing and on defense that trading Draisaitl could help address. Not to mention that RNH is a great 2C on a cup contending team, especially behind McDavid. This post is meant to help fill those needs for the Oilers. Granlund offers a fantastic playmaking winger to play with McDavid, these two would be unstoppable together. Granlund can keep up with McDavid's speed and pace and also dish the puck extremely well (his shot is also very underrated, Granny can snipe). Granlund also has the flexibility of being able to play either LW or RW, but given the Oilers' forward situation, he'd probably slot in at 1LW. Added bonus that Puljujarvi has the Finnish connection with Granlund. Edmonton native Jared Spurgeon helps shore up Edmonton's defense, he's a great 1st pairing defenseman that can move the puck up the ice very quickly (he is fantastic in the transition game) and play on both special teams.
