It makes sense though? He's shown chemistry with Duchene in the past, and if it let's you bump a guy like Alex Tuch to the third line, it makes the team deeper.

As i see it the Sens can not trade EK until the deadline unless the return is to big to pass up. They need as strong as a team as possible to make the odds of losing the #1 pick small

I still think Karlsson isn't going to command that much. The highest I see McPhee going for is the same as for Tatar (a first, a second and a third, or maybe a first, Eakin and a prospect). Of course, everyone's going to scream that I'm saying Karlsson is worth no more than Tatar, but Detroit didn't have to trade Tatar and Ottawa does have to trade Eriksson. Remember the ridiculously low price Waddell got for Skinner? All of us AGM's would have given Carolina a first or a player off the roster (plus picks) at the very least. I bet McPhee would trade a 2019 first for Skinner right now.
