Description
Phil Kessel has been good for the Pittsburgh Penguins since coming over in a trade during the summer of 2015. He hasn’t been the team’s leading goal-scorer however, like he was for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Could that be because he is now in a supporting role, rather than the star offensive player on the first line? It’s possible. Would getting back onto the first line help improve his goals-per-game number? The New Jersey Devils would certainly hope so. New Jersey is always in need of scorers, it seems. Notably a defense-first team, the Devils might be willing to part with Adam Larsson to get a bonafide goal-scorer. The Penguins could use a big-bodied blueliner and Larsson would fit the bill.

Devils say no. One reason Kessel was the leader scoring for the Leafs is that he never saw the defensive zone. He was hardly the Leafs best forward overall.

Not sure about that. Would I trade Kapanen, a late 1st, and Scott Harrington for Adam Larsson? I think I probably would.

Pens pass. No I wouldnt trade Kapanen, Spaling, Harrington, and a 1st for Larsson. He isnt that damn good.

PS, no **** Kessel isnt the leading scorer. He plays with some of the best players in the league. He finished 3rd on the team in goals, assists, and points. Cant really expect anything better than that. He would have finished 4th if Malkin was healthy all year, but even then he would have finished behind everybody he was expected to finish behind. He has been PRETTY MUCH everything the pens expected. He isnt going anywhere, or at least not after just one season with the pens.

You are so anti Kessel it's astonishing. Leafs best player since sundin and you speak about him like he's a third liner

Yeah I never really understood that. Maybe his work ethic wasn't amazing, and he wasn't a gritty player who would go into the boards and fight for the puck. But why would he when it's pretty clear that his offensive capabilities are elite with his great speed and wicked shot. Anyone saw that goal he got today? That's Phil Kessel. Kessel spent his prime playing with the wrong players, the team was just flawed the way it was built.
