The most realistic lines for the start of the year

Description
The fourth line LW position is gonna be a fight between Hathaway, Mangiapane, Foo and Dube.

also the third and fourth lines are going to be cycled based on the team they are playing. Teams with 3 scoring lines will likely face ryan/Bennett/Frolik as a shutdown line.

Teams with weaker 3/4 llines will likely face Jankowski/Frolik/Bennett as a stronger scoring line.

as shown
1st line: pure scoring line
2nd Line: Flex line good shutdown but also dangerous offensively
3rd line: Dangerouys offensively but with Frolik jankowski and bennnett might be able to get better defensively. Frolik hopefully will be able to turn Jankowski into a backlund caliber player
4th Line: Shut down Line with hints of young brilliance from czarnik/ LW young player

Finally Czarnik has to prove himself or else he might end up being the 13th forward

I'm a big advocate for Frolik and Janko spending a season together, I see Janko as a poor mans Backlund at this point, if Frolik can bring the style of game to Janko that made the 3M line so effective I think we see Jankowski become a key part to this Flames team and potentially develop into a very strong defensive center in the league. I also think that line frees up Bennett a little to get some more of his offensive game going.

I want to see Neal on that second line with Backs and Tkachuk, Neal can score 20 with his eyes closed and I think that we put Lindholm with Gaudreau and Monahan his production will increase substantially, I believe Lindholm adds a little more defensive security to a line that is obviously built to score. I think that Neal and Chucky together prove to be one of the hardest offensive zone lines to play against, couple that with Backlund being a potential Selke center man and you have a pretty nasty second line.

I guess what I am driving at here is spreading the wealth, get offensive prowess on a line with defensive security. What I am beyond excited for is to see the power play combinations!

ya I would agree that Neal and Lindholm are definitely interchangeable. this is just what I believe it will be to start the season. Neal can score 20 with his eyes closed but with one of the best passers in the league with Gaudreau I wouldn't put 35-40 goals out of Neals reach.

If lindholm is put on the first line the line becomes pretty fragile. for the same reason of spreading the wealth around I think neal will be more effective at making the first line harder to play against physically and in the gritty areas such as digging the puck out of the corner. I also believe Lindholm is basically a younger better Frolik so in all likelihood with him on the second line helps to maintain the defensive power house that the three M line gave us in the last couple years

There's no Doubt that both of these combinations will be tried. we will just have to wait to see which one works out

Edit: If Ferland can Score 21 playing alongside Gaudreau and Monahan then Neal can score 40 easily lol

I agree that Neal and Lindholm are interchangeable although I would prefer to see Linholm on the first line. I also believe that Frolik should pair up with Janko this season. My twist to this would be to move Frolik back to his natural side (LW). The reason for this is that I thought Foo was far more noticeable in the 4 games he got at the end of the season than Mangipane was in 11 games he played. Foo went to the front of the net constantly and was not afraid to go into the hard areas to get the puck - just what is needed for a bottom 6 forward. I envision the bottom six getting equal playing time and setting up like this:

Bennett / Ryan / Czarnik
Frolik / Jankowski / Foo

Only time will tell.

Foo looked more comfortable in the NHL that's for sure. It will be interesting to see which of the young guys can take that next step because I don't think Hathaway or Lazar can lock down the 12th spot

Dube might make the leap hes the one with the most improvement year to year. will depend if he can transfer his game to the wing cause I just don't see him being an effective NHL center
