Description
Rumors swirling around that these two teams are still active in the trade market... The Wild should definitely kick some tires.
Transactions
1.
MIN
  1. Choix de 2e ronde en 2019 (OTT)
  2. Choix de 1e ronde en 2020 (OTT)
Détails additionnels:
Ottawa will recapture these picks + when they finally move Karlsson. Spurgeon is a pretty nice consolation for a 1st pairing RHD. And yes...for those who are clueless, Spurgeon is a top-pairing RHD.
2.
MIN
  1. Faulk, Justin
Détails additionnels:
I would probably give Carolina the option of Niederrieter or Zucker. Who would you want for Faulk?
CAR
  1. Zucker, Jason
Détails additionnels:
Faulk is the ideal replacement for Spurgeon...only bigger and younger. He will give the Wild 2 very exciting RHD for the foreseable future in he and Dumba.

the sens are likely looking to add picks, not trade more of them away. also there's no way they're going to trade away another 1st anytime soon, especially with the team seemingly going through a rebuild. this would also leave the sens with none of their own picks this year until the 4th round.

I'd love Spurgeon in Ottawa, but it's not in the cards.

a rebuilding team is NOT trading away a first round pick, and IF EK, Stone and Duch leaves they are re-building

Like the previous posters on here I seriously doubt Ottawa would trade another first rounder out, even for someone as good as Spurgeon. They need more futures not less.

While Zucker for Faulk on the surface does seem fair, Carolina appears weaker at C/RW than at LW if you judge by the natural positions of their forward group. I know Zucker can play both wings, but he seems to do better playing LW. Coyle would perhaps make more sense for Carolina. However, from what I've heard he is the only natural right-shot on their roster so that may be a deal breaker for Minnesota.

Trading Spurgeon does make sense though. Minnesota isn't a cup contender and they need to get younger. The next couple of drafts looks really strong. Getting worse in the short term at the benefit of a few really solid futures could do wonders for Minnesota.

So here's a question...(even though I can't stand him) would Duchene for Spurgeon make sense? Or, would the Sens rather acquire younger pieces for him?
