    You are giving up an NHL ready defenceman, the best goalie in the AHL, a 2nd and a 1st for a guy who hasn't been in the league for years and was burried by a domestic assault scandal? You are out of your mind.

    I would give up just a second for him, sign a 1 year "prove you're still legit contract". He did put up decent numbers in the K. Maybe send LA a conditional 3rd that becomes a 2nd if he resigns.

    For hockey purposes, yes. Something tells me Shanahan may think otherwise.

    I don't know that the solution to the Leafs problems can't be handled internally however. They have some players like Carrick that are just waiting for the opportunity to play.
