Umm what? The only thing they'd be willing to give up for one of the top 10 wingers in the league is a 2nd rd pick. I don't care that he's a rental, Stasney and Nash brought back major returns as only rentals. Panarin is going to bring back a pretty healthy return coming off an 80 point season.

Personally I wouldn't do this deal unless an extension is part of it because I don't think Edmonton should go all in this year. They would have the offensive fire power in the top 2 lines, but they'd be very top heavy and weakening their 3rd line capabilities while still having major issues on defense at in the goal.

2. Look at the Rick Nash trade, Spooner and Lindgren plus a 1st was a pretty high price for 2 months of Nash a guy who hadn't topped 40 points since 2014/15 season. Panarin is a completely different player, he has 233 points over the last 3 years. He is an absolute stud and you will have to give up some serious pieces even as a rental. As I said before I wouldn't do RNH and Pulj, but say RNH a 1st and a prospect makes a lot more sense. And it would have to be a pretty good prospect.

because there is just zero fit. The team that wants to trade for him will want to re-sign him. He's already said he doesn't want to play in a market like Edmonton.

They didn't get better, McDavid had 108 points and no one else is getting better even if Talbot is better they miss the playoffs, oh and for 6 million Lucic is getting worse so I have no clue how this team gets better. Maybe trade away another heart trophy winner, or try and bring one in. the one i see is Panarin AND IF they can resign him, which is what I am saying, then nug and pujarvi is a great trade for the oilers, again only if he resigned and I think if he got a chance to have insane numbers with McDavid that would at least intrigue him.
