Description
So before anyone asks Robidas is in LTIR cause I'm hopeful he retires if he doesn't he'll be playing with the Marlies next year. If we get Matthews then Bozak is tradeable so trading him to detriot for Datsyuk (Salary Dump) a 1st 2017 and the 3rd we gave up for babcock we might help them short term but long term if we keep drafting well Detroit might help us win a cup. It also could be a lotto pick next year cause i do see the run for detroit comming to a end soon look how hard it was to make the playoffs with Datsyuk on the roster. I think though Sparks has shown promise with teams probably trading players they might lose in expansion the leafs should attempt to get Andersen if the price is right. Cowen for Bicknell and a 4th helps both teams Chicago need to get Bicknell off their books and how well Hunter Drafts there is value in a 4th for the leafs. The Michalek for half his salary helps give some cheap vet leadership for Arizona. I could see us go after a Vet Dman but Marincin looked good lined up with Reilly. So he can be a stop gap til Zaitsev develops or might maintain this skill level and be the answer to who to pair with Reilly long term cause though he only put up 7 points 5 of those 7 I believe came in the last 20 when his ice time increased to 20 + min. So with simple math if he can maintain that level he could put up 15 to 25 points a season making him a valueable complement to either our top pair or second pair.

Vesey is almost certainly going to Boston

Also i dont see the point of the Michalek trade... good vet dont think retaining 50% and a 5th is worth it...although i like a young team you need some experience

Also dont think Detroit gives us THAT much to take on Datty's contract, only 1 year left on it.. nice idea but maybe a 2nd and 3rd??? 1st's are gold

D is pretty spot on and i would love andersen

I could be wrong, but I believe under the age 35+ clause;, Robidas is not eligible for full LTIR cap relief. I know this site says he is, but see that is why Pronger was traded to Arizona, to allow cap relief for Flyers.
The Marlies might be the only option for cap relief.
Like the Datsyuk trade if doable under the cap. Of course we might be competing with some other teams with cap space.
The Ducks don't have to trade Anderson, and I like deal as a Leaf. Think he will get more than what you suggested. Might be a deal in the summer of 2017 for goalies especially if there is expansion.
Michalek has full NMC with the Leafs, no buyout, no Marlies. But if he wants to be traded the Leafs would comply.
It would probably be cheaper cap wise to keep Lupul on the Leaf roster. Likely he will be injured at some time, and it would be a legit LTIR cap help.
Hoping Leivo makes the team and if not Loov maybe short term UFA on defence.

Robidas is in LTIR cause he in this post retiring rather than playing in the minors. Pronger technically hasn't retired from pro hockey yet that's why he is still not able to be off the books. Andersen might need more but I'm thinking going after him now it gives us control of his salary hit. There are some other prospects I'd add to the deal but Gauthier Kapanen are untouchable at least for this trade. Datsuyk deal might be a 2nd not their 1st but I was more putting it out there to see what response I'd get.

I agree with Datsyuk it might be their 2nd but just putting out there and seeing the response. Vesey is not all but assured to sign with Boston. His dad is under the leafs scouting team so I could see the leafs at least on his short list and a good chance With him and Shanahan selling the leafs and a chance to be the winger for either Young Nylander or Matthews he can see long term chemistry with the leafs Boston has Bergeron in tge tail end of his prime and his wingers are more or less set.
