Risto for trouba is a solid starting point, i think the value is evened out because risto is signed to a reasonable contract with term. So if the jets wanted to work something out here because they think they will get much more even play from a talented but overused rito by dropping his responsibilities, i can see it. Regardless of anything else in this, the problem i see is troubas contract, i think he wants 8 per, i think that was the rumor. If a guy wants 8 and he has leverage, i cant see him taking 6.

Edit, he is asking for 7 in arbitration, but thats his arbitration ask, not his long term price.

Ristolainen for Trouba is just a matter of taste, but I'd keep RIsto. Scandella for Perrault leaves the left defensive rotation with less than one season of collective experience, and doesn't significantly improve the forward corps.

McCabe, hunwick, beaulieu all have experience of you need it.

i'd do risto for trouba straight up then move scandella at the deadline for more. we can showcase him, he's not old, has another year left at a reasonable number, and hopefully by the deadline our future LHD order (dahlin, guhle, pilut) will be ready for their NHL roles. even if they're not, beaulieu and hunwick can drag us to the finish line in our quest for jack hughes.
