I honestly don't know where this team is going to end up in standing this season

Description
I think they lack depth up front, in case injuries hurt key players, but I do also think they'll be right up there with other western teams up until the last week of the season. That Pacioretty deal makes a ton of sense from COL's perspective. They'll easily have the cap space to extend him next season even with Raantanen Kerfoot Zadorov and others raises. It'll give them a great second line plus some leadership and the cost isn't that high or damaging for them. I see Timins playing right in this year and really having a strong season. Plus, that forth line looks really strong and will play big minutes for them!

In my scenario, I traded COL's first, not OTT's...they're not trading away that one for virtually anything, imho

I still laugh every time I think about how bad Ottawa is going to be and how Colorado will laugh their way on to the stage as they select a top 3 draft pick

Imagine if, somehow, they win the lottery and get Jack Hughes...that Duchene trade would go down in history as one of the biggest win EVER lol!!

It would easily be the most one sided trade of all time. Ottawa would have basically given up Jack Hughes, Kyle Turris, Shane Bouwers, Andrew Hammond and a third round pick for Duchene.

And it would make Colorado ridiculously talented down the middle with McKinnon, Jost and Hughes. Jost probably moves to the wing but still not a problem.
