There isn't a lot I agree with in this roster, such as the Stone extenstion (probably gets north of 7M for 8 years, or trading away Wilson, etc.), however:

    - Involving Burakovsky in a trade package is definitely the way to go imo, to hopefully get a better top 6 player.
    - I am not sure about the deal itself, but I like Nikita Soshnikov on that third line. Solid two way player who can contribute offensively and play on your PK (which may hurt after losing Beagle).
    - I absolutely with the Hamhuis signing, I think thats roughly what he will get (if not a bit more than it might take), and he provides great leadership and experience for your bottom pair. Bowey isn't quite ready for an NHL job, and I think it would be a bit risky to have Djoos and Bowey on the bottom pair (despite them playing sheltered minutes). Hamhuis could be the next best D alternative if they do not bring Orpik back (as I have heard the Caps are interested in doing so).

There's little chance that Djoos and Bowey play together next year. I think they sign a tougher veteran to play Orpik's minutes in the playoffs, but let the vet sit out, and break up Orlov and Niskanen to pair with Bowey and Djoos at evens. I've stopped putting that on teams on here, because too many people comment to complain about seeing any of the top three on the third pair. I like your Burakovsky trade better than mine, for sure. Stephenson is awesome and versatile. Hate to lose him.

Soshnikov on the third line, skillwise, sure. Stats were awful last year after he was claimed on waivers, and Sanford didn't do much either. Could get both for nothing. Soshnikov, ideally, works his way up to play with the Russians.... Which is the other reason Emelin is a better fit than ham-house.

    Appreciate the conversation.

Soshnikov had two NHL points last year. Sanford had zero, but in the AHL, he got 8.

Ana's broke 60 in the AHL. He's 25. This puts him at.... Less valuable than Travis Boyd.

If those are the players you want, they aren't going to be that expensive.
