Agreed this is a fair move, and something I’d consider as the Canes. The only challenge here is the Canes continue to pile up the quality wingers, and still weak at C and G.

I don't think I'd give up a 1st for Faulk. Also Hyman is a very solid role guy on the team. I'm not saying the trade isn't fair but I think Faulk isn't a great match for this team. Of course Toronto could just be the 80's Oilers and score 8 goals a game and give up 6 but still win. Personally a D-man I would be after is a Josh Manson, Chris Tanev, Matt Dumba type.

It amazing throughout the months, seems like 80% (no exaggeration) of all RHD trades are to the Leafs. Doesn't matter if the players have long cap hurting contracts (Weber) are for oft injured players (Tanev) or players who aren't much better than the Leaf current bottom pairing (Faulk). For some reason folks think ANY RHD is of Doughty calibre and make the Leafs Cup finalists.

Going by last year, yes. I'll take my chances of Carrick.Oz the Russian or even Dermot go the right side than trading for Faulk. Then in 2019 we'lll see but at least the Leaf don't have 4.8m gumming up the position or cap.
