Backstrom is the heart of the Caps' power play. He had 26 points there this year. Hayes has 25 power play points in his career. I don't really see him stepping in to fill that spot, or bringing anything to the Caps that Backstrom doesn't.

For trading Backstrom in division it would probably have to start with one your top prospects like Andersson, Chyitl, or Kravstov.

Like tavares good maybe better so It would cost more than nyr have to get him. Think duchene trade and x2 that value
