Can you explain the logic behind the Anisimov deal for Chicago? Elliot would be the backup, Laberge is nothing special and the third doesn’t push it over the top for a solid middle six C.

Crawford may not be ready to start the year so Elliott would be the starter and if Crawford is out an extended period then Chicago has a legit starter.

Well considering he’s expected to be ready for training camp, it doesn’t seem like an issue. Even if he isn’t ready for camp, odds are he doesn’t miss a crazy amount of time at the beginning of the year. Signing Mrazek would’ve been a better option than giving up a valuable asset
