Description
LAK need a young gifted top line winger and to get faster. Rumor they're interested in Pacioretty but don't want to obviously move Vilardi or their 1st for an aging 30 year old 30G scorer...but what about a 30G scorer rookie in Kyle connor who's fast, skilled, and still getting better?
Jets woud HATE to trade Kyle Connor but there's no way of getting a potential top 6 C for them now. Either a) Cap hit will be too high like O'Reilly etc and they're already at the CAP and B) they won't be drafting in the top 10 for a while now simply because they'll likely be playoff bound every year.

Other moves are bound to happen and likely one or more of Kulikov, Myers, Perrault, Little, and/or Mason are getting traded for CAP crunch reasons so you take what you can get, re-sign Stastny who wants to be here and was good between Ehlers and Laine and get a potential #2C in Vilardi to replace Stastny in a couple years.

With the EDM pick draft whichever RHD is best available at 10 and hope they're ready in 3 years when Buffs deal is done to keep the window open.

Note: Armia could also be replaced with Petan/Dano/Tanev/even Perrault (doubt though because of the CAP hit) as EDM needs skilled middle 6 guys too on cheap contracts.

Is there any way the Kings can trade with you guys and not give up Vilardi. I want Conner, but would you accept Kale Clague? Or Tanner Pearson + Alec Martinez and we'll take Kulikov off ur hands? I just really love Vilardi!!

100% but the Jets need a top level C and won't get one without flipping the coin and if the Jets are going to take a high risk high reward gamble it may as well be with one of their wingers because they're flush with them!

I'd like to see this trade happen one year down the road. As it is, the LAK don't look like they'll change much in a year, and I'd still rather find out what Roslovic turns into before we pull the trigger on one of our top 6 pieces.

That dude has gone and had an identical AHL career to Claude Giroux and his NHL numbers have been crazy. Scoring at a rate of 1.9P/60 is absurdly good for a guy who played bottom 6 minutes with little to no powerplay time last year. Like 1st line good if we didn't have one Mark Scheifele already stapled to that spot.

I love a good prospect, but if Vilardi's upside is as an elite 2C, he's probably 2 or more years from hitting that potential, and we have a prospect whose upside is also as an elite 2C but is further down the line in his development having played two pro seasons now, I'd use the leverage we have and hold out a year to make 100% sure we know what Roslovic projects as before we trade for a role we might already have.

Problem with waiting is that if the Kings give him a chance and he has a good year the price goes up. Those kinds of C's are only available at the point he's at right now which is why this deal would have to happen now. Winnipeg takes the risk of seeing what he's like at the NHL because if you find out he can keep it up, Connor no longer gets it done. That and the fact the LAK likely will address the top line winger need this offseason due to the amount available
