The Wings like Mike Green and he likes the Wings. I think he comes back - and I can't see him agreeing to a one-year deal.

Nope Green isn't going to accept $3 million per on a 2 year deal, He'll get at least 3 years around $5-$5.5 million per he's on record saying that he's not going to accept less money to sign. He's on record suggesting he wont take that much less then what he was currently making with Detroit.

Have to add more to get bean, starts with AA and prob requires more, he's a too defensive prospect and nhl ready. Potential too 2, at least too 4.

AA for faulk is more likely

I’m pretty sure the three primary forwards, that the Canes would be interested in, are Larkin, AA, and Svechnikov. I don’t anticipate Larking available but the other two may be better trade matches. The just aren’t going to be interested in Nyquist.

Friedman suggested AA for Faulk in back in April.. Not sure I see it.. Wings want to get younger and trading for a 26 year old d-man who's contract expires after next year doesn't seem ideal. Bean isn't NHL ready. Not great defensively and probably needs a few years in the A. Also, who does he push out in Carolina's top-six? Their owner wants to win now and honestly I think Gus has more value league-wide than AA, who quite frankly had a disappointing season and maintains a less than positive narrative surrounding his intangibles.

Why not?

Let's not forget the new owner is very unconventional and aggressive. Nyquist helps a team win now, more so than AA or Svechnikov. Larkin for Bean isn't even close. Bean's value has dropped a fair amount since being drafted.

Do you have a source? I'm not disagreeing, just have not heard that Green said he expects to make close to $6M per. I'd be shocked if he made more than $5M per. Teams are realizing the detriment in overpaying for free agents, and let's be honest, Green is pretty one-dimensional.

Sorry, responded to the wrong post here.

Perhaps but the owner has been clear about the “type” of hockey that he wants and his preference for younger, feisty forwards. Svechnikov because we will most like draft his brother and AA because we’d like his speed and he can also play in the middle. I had no expectation for Larkin (or Mantha or Rasmussen) to be substituted in this trade but the previous two would be the most desirable, of who’s left. Either way, I just don’t think that Nyquist moves the needle at all.
