Actually, the bottom six was atrocious with Kessel as well. Half of his points this year came on the PP and his possession numbers were below 50% at even-stength.

Yeah their bottom 6 was rough this year. This past year was just a weird year for the team. Thats why I do not think they should trade kessel, he's a huge part of this team. But if he does get traded, they need to sign at least 1 top free agent winger

It's not about the 92 points. It's about the 45 even-strength points which Subban and Sprong will make up for. Subban will also not feed the opposing team's transition game. Kessel is only a good player if he has time and space. That's why he's great on the PP. Overall he is a good-not-great player with just as many deficiencies as positive attributes. Subban is an elite defenseman who would give us a two-headed monster on defense while still having 2 1st-ballot hall-of-fame forwards up front with Guentzel who could be due for a breakout 60-point season.

Not to mention that Subban has a Norris Trophy and was just nominated for another.
