I dont really think Hanifin is going anywhere. He is valuable option and CAR should keep him anytime. The other thing.. you dont get Pettersson for Hanifin. Pettersson just signed with Nucks and is the leading part of their team for his whole career.

New Vancouver riot set off if this happened. Boeser and Petterson are the cornerstones to the rebuild and are not getting traded.

IMO if you take Hanifin out of that trade it is a fair exchange of talent.

Petterson is going to be a top5 Center in the league in a couple of years... Hanifin has never reach 40 pts in a season even if he is considered as an offensive Dmen.

Yeah, but how many of them were able to play safe two-way game? Not a lot. Petterson brings the two-way game too. Even if he isn't going to be a top 5 C in the league, this kind of players aren't getting traded for a disappointing Dmen. If he had already reach the 45-50 pts range, then it could be a possibility, but he has never made 35 pts while not being that safe in his zone. You have the right to give your opinion tho and it could works for a prospect that is not a top 3 prospect in the league. Somebody like Thomas, Vilardi or Mittelstadt could be a possibility (these are only exemple to show the kind of prospect that could be include in your deal).

The fairest hanifin trade from vancouver would involve Hutton, Baertschi, 7th overall and Michael Dipietro. Thatd be the only way to snag Hanifin out of CAR

That may not be top five in a few years but it certainly projects in that direction. Vancouver is not trading Petterson but Carolina may trade Hanafin despite the title of this mock team.

Hanifin, McGinn for Buchnevich, Lias Andersson and Boston 2018 1st or
Hanifin, McGinn, Rask for Schwartz, Kostin, Dunn , 2nd round pick
