You actually still have about $5M in cap space. You've still got it set at last year's number (it will go up $4M or so) and you have 24 players on the roster. Only 23 count.

If you can get Stastny and Perron, you can afford to be a little more aggressive on the D. Rather than Hickey (who is a 5-6 option), I'd like to put Jack Johnson with Weber and Jon Moore with Petry. I actually favour putting Mete in Laval for 3 months of 30-minutes-per-game alongside Lernout, while grooming Alzner (playing with Juulsen and Reilly) for a trade-deadline move.

In fairness, Perron can play both wings pretty well. But if Habs are investing that much, I'd rather see if Bobby Ryan could revitalize his career in Montreal sniping for Drouin and Chucky.

true, i think considering that they could be getting zadina they dont necessarily need more wingers (although perron had a terrific season despite injuries and is from quebec for what its worth) feel like it would make sense to get stastny and a cheaper center defensively and then take the rest of your cap space to go after Jon Carlsson and Maybe a cheap speedy d man
