Probably the worst trade I've seen on here... Hagelin for Guhle!? A guy with one year left on his deal for a super young and promising defenceman?? Sorry man I can't take the rest seriously....

Guhle is not the dman you get rid of. Especially not for Hagelin. Are you insane?
Wouldn't trade nylander straight up for Gubauer let alone taking on the dump of Orpik. Nylander again isn't the winger you trade.
We can get a much better package for ROR.
Eichel goes from 925,000 to 10,000,000. a 9,075,000 raise.
There's not way Nolan should be on the roster next season. Huge waste of air.

Guhle's Rochester stats: 50GP, 8G, 18A, 26PTS. Averaged 0.52 ppg which is very good for any ahl rookie, let alone a defenseman. The only time he has ever looked out of place in the AHL was for 4 games in the playoffs. He was one of our best defensemen this season, and if you can't see that then I don't know what to tell you. Nelson-Guhle was our best defensive pairing in the last month of the season.
Hagelin and Okposo (unless he somehow rebounds) are not first liners. Like the Rask move but don't think Carolina moves him for that little.
I also don't know why I keep seeing people give up assets for Grubauer. Sign an older goaltender in free agency to mentor Ullmark and call it a day.

You can’t be serious? Guhle has been an outstanding player/prospect for the organization and plays the Housley game managements looking for without trading for one. Nylander on the other hand isn’t even old enough to legally drink yet. Give him time. Guy is 20 years old. He has great offensive instincts and could easily excel going forward with the elite center group we will have for a long time to come, if your gonna deal him it shouldn’t be for those guys at the very least.
Thank you for taking the time to reply, greatly appreciated.
I can understand your outrage about trading our "top" prospects.
Did you take the time to read the Team Explanation. Buffalo has a ton of defensemen and forward prospects trading 2 that have value brings in Value. Hagelin can play any line and kills penalties a skill the Sabres did not have last year. The team was composed of losers, Hagelin is a winner, I want winners. He will help to improve the locker room atmosphere, that alone is worth giving up a prospect.
Having an on ice mentor for our defensemen is priceless, in this trade I do not see him as a negative but as opportunity to show the young players how to play and how to win. Another winning influence in the locker room.
Trading Nylander for Grubauer is an insurance policy in case Ullmark is not the answer. So I am trading one prospect for another. I would rather have two young goal tenders.
Did you happen to actually look at the team? That bottom six is awesome, Rask and Larsson will win about 55 percent of their face offs, Byron and Hagelin both were penalty killers. Last year after Kane was traded we did not have a single NHL LW this team has 2 who have 20 goal seasons on their resume and Hagelin with a season of 17. I am keeping Wilson and Nolan because they have rings. That is why Botterill traded for them!!! But the cancer did not respond as an adult and more concerned about his stats.
Did you happen to check out Okposo second half season, maybe you should before telling me he cannot play top minutes.
I will take this team because, next year with Dahlin the defense is going to great, Pilut and Olofsson may be able to join the team later in the season. I can see Bailey and Smith on the team as well. But that locker room losing mentality has to change, IMO Hagelin, Orpik, Byron, Nolan and Wilson can do that.
I am tired of losing this team is a winner. Finally, maybe Guhle and Nylander will be great, they do nor look like they have what it takes IMO.
