The big questions in Buffalo are all on the back end. They’re like the Oilers. They’re offense is as good as anyone’s, but Defense and Goaltending matter more as we’ve seen from Edm, Buf, the Isles, etc.

How about... adding a generational D prospect?

Its still warranted to be honest. Risto and Scandella were a pretty much a mess last year for the most part, and Bogo is pretty brutal and very injury prone. Still a lot of what ifs and hopes on the Back end. Really need to refresh it, start with Dahlin and build out from there.

I know RIsto looks flashy on paper, but hes an offensive Dman who gets half of his points every year on the PP. A guy like that who isnt very strong defensively cant be your 2nd best Dman. Lots of work in Buffalo but if they can bring in 2 new Top 4 DMan to push Ristolainen down to 4th on the depth chart. That legit depth

It is clear to most Buffalo fans at this point the Nylander is just not ready yet. That said the Sabres have a massive hole at left wing. In addition, Lehner is also not the answer as well. Ullmark will get his opportunity im not even sure the Sabres resign Lehner at this point.

sabres were the lowest scoring team in the league. now having eichel playing a full season and we'll see what mittelestait can do, but don't compare them to the oilers.

If he can play 50 minutes a night, sure...
