I think Washington isn't too far from accepting the trade, because it gives them more than enough cap space to give Carlson 8x8. Especially if instead of Nick Backstrom you meant Philpp Grubauer.

That's why I'm giving them Petry, to sabotage them. There's not much difference between Backstrom and Petry's cap hit. Atleast not enough to drastically facilitate the Carslon resign

Really?? I just can't see giving up much more for a 30 yr old C with 2 years left on his contract and risking losing him to free agency

On the surface it does seem like it. But FOR ME, the moment Anderson dropped the gloves with Chara, I wanted him in MTL. I need him to protect Tavares/O'Reilly/Backstrom on the top lines. And he can actually play. If I'd be able to fleece CBJ more, I'd take it obviously

I'd never want Weber fighting, he's too important. And deslauriers would never play top 2 lines to protect Tavares or Backstrom/O'Reilly. I love Gallagher but he's style of play will cut his career short, so now that his stock is up is the best time to trade him. But like I said, if CBJ would give up more, i wouldn't turn it down obviously
