UPGRADE DEFENSE
If Carlsson becomes UFA we must get him signed at all cost. A true top RD who can eat lots of min and play PP and PK. Hopefully Hainsey can mentor Zaitsev as he has done wth Reilly.
Some size in Frolin who hits and could play PK if needed.
Play Borgman or Rosen with Marlies at RD to get them ready for call up or next season.
Trade Gardiner for picks or a pick and a prospect.
FORWARDS
Nylander bridge deal 2-3yrs until last yr of RFA to show if he will be a C driving his own line (more$) or will be a winger.
I would like to see Thorton signed for a year but is very much unlikely, Aaltonen was +27 regular season so looks defensively responsible, he and Jhonsson had chemistry, add Kapanen that line should be fun.
Sign a 4line C so dont need to waste picks later..Beagle from Was wold be nice pick too but probably stay there, Brodziak can PK and Leivo has earned a chance to play at least 20games on a row, if doesn't work well there is plenty of cap left to trade.
Martin I think could be traded after signing bonus.
After first day season and Horton is placed on IR there is a spot- maybe Grundstrom (that would send Leivo to press box again), or bring up a D

The back up to McElhinney to start season unless he really stinks in september, and then see how it goes as Sparks is having a stellar season with Marlies.
