Definitely agree with this. Nylander, Liljegren, 2018 1st, 2019 2nd* & 3rd, 2020 2nd. That to me would be the fair market value. May seem steep to some but solid deal for both sides.

The fact that I didn't add anymore picks is that every GM knows OTT is trying to unload Smith's contract. So, by including him in the deal, it negates a little bit the need to add more picks. E.K65 for Nylander Liljegren 2018 1st 2019 2nd* (1st if EK resign) seems fair considering you get Karlsson only for a season at 6.5M and Nylander is signed through 2021 at 5M per (in my scenario). The 2019 3rd pick is for Smith & Ott 2018 4th pick (salary dump, here, remember guys).

No doubt do I think the conversation starts at Nylander +, but I don't see that many teams paying this much with only 1 year guaranteed and Ottawa likely trying to move him. For a player only guaranteed to stay 1 year I could see Nylander, Liljegren, 2019 & 2020 2nds for Karlsson. If he resigns then they switch to firsts (or something similar value wise). Although I think the value is fair, the only way the leafs would fork up Nylander and Liljegren is if it was for a sign and trade, otherwise I don't see them giving up 2 promising players for a rental.
