I somewhat agree with you Npally. Yes it's important to have a heir apprentice to fleury, but in case you haven't noticed, the pens have a VERY thin prospect pool. By the time Murray is an NHL starter, Their core could very well be out of their prime and maybe been traded to other teams. Matt Murray will end up being an amazing goaltender on an otherwise brutal team. Murray could end up hurting Pittsburgh in the long run because he'll actually be winning games which will prevent Pittsburgh from winning another draft lottery. I think that pens have clearly stated that they have a "win now" mindset and it's too late to deviate from that plan seeing as they have barely any youth left. If they can acquire an impact player for Murray, I think GMJR should consider it. It's very clear that the time is now to win in Pittsburgh. GMJR should do whatever he possibly can to make that happen. With this core, it's embarrassing to have only one Stanley cup. I guess it all depends on how quickly scouts believe Murray will pass fleury. If it's within the next 2 seasons, I say keep him. If it's more long term then that, I think it would be best to net a solid return out of him
