Don't know why the sens pay 2 firsts. Draisaitl is the best player, but Hoffman and Duchene are both better than RNH and you guys get Bobby Ryan at a great price. Doesn't make sense to me

I really like the trades here. Lucic one seems realistic with the small return and eating some cap. Not too sure about the Wings trade considering Jones' ceiling is very high but then again AA could be as well. Blockbuster deal looks good. OTT was willing to give away Karlsson to get rid of Ryan contract so this could be possible too. Not sure if OTT would eat half of Ryan contract though (minor detail). Only red flags I see are that Carlson signed for under $7 and that the goalie situation hasn't changed. Carlson is worth more imo and especially in free agency he could get more. Still possible contract given he may be willing to take less money to play with 97 (I'd sure as hell do that). Assuming Stuart Skinner pans out into an NHL goalie you'll be fine but short term there may need to be a more competitive battle for the #1 job as Talbot is on his final year

That is because you are not considering term for Hoffman or Duchene. Draisaitl is locked up for a very long time, Duchene and Hoffman are not.

How is it too steep when EDM is giving up a 1C who has 7 years on his deal for a 1C that has 1? There is a reason the 1st goes to a 3rd if Duchene re-signs.

Ya the goalie situation definitely has to be addressed but there are a few really good options that become UFAs when Talbot's deal is up.

I don't think Ottawa gives up two 1st when they are a rebuilding team, not to mention there already giving up Duchene and Hoffman while retaining Bobby Ryan's salary. Also I don't think the Sens retained that much salary, they already have so many budget problems and now they have Leon D. for 7 years at about 8 million per year. Otherwise this is pretty good.

You are probably right. It is likely more like a 1st and a conditional 3rd that disappears if Duchene resigns. I will edit it to that.

LOL why would we do that trade? Take out the picks and I might consider the deal.

Maybe because you get a legit 1C and solid 2C or 1LW and get younger in the process while getting rid of Bobby Ryan.
