Mode - plafond salarial: Basique

Description

Blues really need a net-front guy, especially on the power play. JVR is also a decent fit to get some scoring out of the third line. (Yes, I stole this idea from Tyler Dellow.)

Opting for a bigger cap hit to get fewer years. JVR could probably get 6x6, but if he's interested in STL, this is the offer I'd want to extend. The back end of a 6 year deal for a guy who's 5v5 play was never amazing could get ugly; I'd rather pay a little more for 4 yrs (if he'd take it).

Berglund can be a solid 3C but it might be tough to move his contract so I added a sweetener. TBH Armstrong needs to take whatever he can get for Berglund or Sobotka, they're getting overtaken next year.

I like the Berglund deal, he's valued around the league. I think Sobotka actually has more value than Berg. Both could be a great fit in Buffalo behind Eichel and O'Reilly at 3C. Both have term and can chip in points with responsible defensive play. JVR seems like a guy who could be a good fit, but we really don't need another LHS LW. If we could move Steen, then yes he'd be a great fit.

Yeah, I was just spitballing on JVR to hear some thoughts. Personally I think we should be decreasing our number of fwds, not adding. Maybe a Zuccarello trade would be a good fit. Or Silfverberg in ANA. Or just use Kyrou on the right wing. He scored another beauty tonight. Kid is gonna push hard for a spot considering he's exactly what we need.

Watching JVR throughout the years, I just don't think the Leafs should resign him. But this year his "net presence " seems to be better than ever. So some team will pay a lot for him, I just wonder about his overall play sometimes. IMO he is replacing Rick Nash as a Ranger next season.

I'm not a fan of this signing mainly because of the overpaid nature of free agency and the fact we already have Steen under contract for 4 years. If we get rid of Steen then maybe, but for me you might as well give Kostin a shot at that role.
