No cup

Description
The Bruins most probably won't win the cup this year, although the playoffs are most likely in sight. Instead they should use this year to build towards next year.
CHI: Chicago looks to be the favourites heading into the playoffs and could use a rental like Eriksson to win the cup (especially at half price), it'll cost them Hartman (an amazing prospect with great upside) and a 1st rounder. Remember they also get a second for the 2017 draft as a bonus.

CBJ: With no goalie in their pipeline, Columbus will look to add depth there. Also considering how bad this year is for the Blue Jackets, I'm sure they wouldn't mind picking twice for the next two years, and also acquiring a future sniper in Griffith, the cost would be Atkinson who's looking for a new lease on life, and I think would fit in with the Bruins and Kerby Rychel, a younger Milan Lucic who can slide in next to Krejic and who's got some underrated skills offensively. The third round pick comes in to play ONLY if Colombus picks 1st overall.

ANA: The Ducks are on the outside looking in, but not by much, like the Bruins they are in a period of transition. With Fowler not producing as expected with the Ducks, he's looking for a new lease on life, meanwhile Anaheim can use some experience to build Vatanen and Lindholm. They'd be getting Zee at (almost) half price this year and at 1mil$ for the next two years after that, along with Seidy and a young centre who's shown flashes of great potential in Koko. The second round pick gives Anaheim incentive to commit to this trade. Boston only gets the 4th rounder if the ducks make the playoffs.

The Bruins would then claim Ehrhoff from waivers to stabilize the defence after losing its two core pieces.

In the end, Boston is left with 4.7 in cap space this year and close to 28 heading into the resign phase and FA period. Leaving them space to sign a couple of big names while retaining all their players. On the plus side they would be able to keep 2 1st round picks in this years draft while adding later draft choices as well, while also keeping most of their key prospects in the pipeline (and adding a few along the way).

Looks like the Bruins have thrown in the towel this season (by your trades). After Washington, there are a lot of teams including the Bruins who think they should be going to the Conference final.
The trades. Although CBJ seem to run by idiots, they would be trading two NHLers for an AHL goalie, and iff NHLer and two later round first picks. Don't think that is enough. AHL goalies, junior goalies, really hard to define if they are NHLers.
The Ducks trade....don't think two aging NHLers on a defence laden team would be want the Ducks want. The cap math for next year would not be favourable for the Ducks either.

I don't see it as throwing in the towel because they still have a competitive team after the trades have been completed. If anything, as a team, they are significantly better, becoming younger and speedier in the process. The Chicago deal works out well both ways. The Anaheim deal also works out as they want Fowler out and would then need a cheap replacement for him (Chara at a retained price is freaking great compensation), throw in Seidy who can solidify the bottom 3 and Koko and the 2nd entice them to complete the trade. The CBJ trade too, Rychel and Columbus dont seem to have a great relationship, same goes for Atkinson. Despite what you say, Subban is coveted around the league as a future starter. Seth Griffith is looking great in providence so on a rebuilding team I think he would thrive, being young and all. Also those 1st round picks are great, especially for a rebuilding team, drafting twice in two straight 1st rounds is something of a luxury.

Ducks want Fowler out? Not according to Ducks fans. Rychel and Columbus not a great relationship? So what? Do teams have to trade every player that thinks he deserves more ice time?
The Ducks trades...Chara and Seinberg would still take a lot of cap. Do an 2016/17 analysis of the Ducks cap roster. Not enough room. And why do the Ducks need more Dmen?

    Problems with the CBJ trade:
    * Rychel's request was because of lack of playing time. That has since been addressed.
    * Atkinson being on the trade block is last year's news. He's taken off under Tortorella and is now off the block.
    * "No goalie in the pipeline"? Have you seen what Korpisalo's been doing?

It's a silly trade that would not happen.

Rosa doesn't do his hw when it comes to trades. It's typical of him.

Hilarious you tried to come off in the other thread like you make these terrible (and unrealistic) proposals just to see my reaction. Be honest, you really have no clue when you come on here. Just post 100 arm-chairs with terrible trades (that you think are realistic) and don't get why people call you out on them.
