Not bad, but the Hawks really really need a Bozak or Vermette type 2-way player that can win draws and play D..

I mean the Hawks needs are blatantly obvious....

I think adding Kovalchuk would be a good idea, perhaps sign him to a 1 year deal and if he works out then re-sign him to a longer term next summer, but if he doesn't work out make a run for Panarin then give him a nice long 7 year contract at 8 per.

I expect Anisimov to be traded at the draft... I think he could get a 1st & 2nd round picks, or Bowman could use him to move up in the draft.... I mean Anisimov is a talented player but I just don't think he has a role on this team. It has nothing to do with his skills it's just the type of player he is... He would do well with teams like Nashville, Winnipeg or Las Vegas...

In speaking of Vegas, I just can't see Vegas not resigning James Neal... He would be a good add to the Hawks tho.

I have a different take than this. The Hawks need true centers to which I don't think Sikura will be an NHL center. Schmaltz has had a nice transition back and should be the #2C as long as Kane is on the Hawks, but I'd personally rather keep AA as the #3C because he can easily rotate to the #2C for net front presence and size. It's a different look and while I do think Schmaltz plays more defense than people give him credit for...he won't ever be able to be that net front presence or gain a ton of size. I do think they traded away Hartman in a small part because they want to sign Sikura, but not every hobby baker winner turns out to be a rockstar let alone all the finalists.

John Carlson is seeking closer to 8 years $84 million, Good luck thinking he will sign for less.

You must be nuts to think he will get that. Max and I mean someone crazy enough to pay 8 years 64 million.

He can seek it all he wants...can't see anyone giving him anywhere close to north of $10m per. Might get $8per from a team looking to reach the cap floor
