This is an overpayment imo. I love Galchenyuk. And I could see us getting a good player from Montreal cuz we have been scouting them a lot. I think Burakovsky, Bowey and a 2nd could get it done. I would want Gallagher, Pacioretty, or Galchenyuk. Good idea tho. Just an overpayment.

again this is a fair point. I think that we actually can put galchenyuk in a position to succeed. We have three good centers, so I think we'd ask him to just play winger. Less responsibilities for him, less pressure, and we ask him to play a simpler game. I think he'd thrive tbh. But your point about the defense is not lost. I think you are 100% right. Would going for Jordie Benn in the trade satisfy that need for a 5-6th d.

Honestly, I think that Bergevin will accept Bowey and Burakovsky for Chucky.

Keep in mind that the caps would need to have MTL take on salary, since the 1.2m increase of taking on Galchy (3.7m lost for Bowey and Burk, But 4.9m gained from Chuky) would push WSH over the salary cap. Do you think that means you pay a little more for Galchenyuk?
