Is Nashville acquiring Tavares? Cause that's probably the only rental who would pull that return

Fiala+2018 1st round pick+Fabbro+Tolvanen for a pending UFA in JVR Tavares might get that kind of return but JVR wont.

Would like to see the Leafs try and pull off a three way deal where they acquire Aaron Ekblad, that right handed top-pairing defenseman that's signed long term. Not sure Nashville would be the third team though, but I couldn't imagine that JVR wouldn't be moved again if he was originally dealt to the Panthers in a 2-team trade.

Yep, I got carried away with the prospects for sure. If you could get one A type prospect, one mid-range, and a first, i think they should do it. Matthews may be shut down for the year.

Remember its deadline team... some teams (and necessarily Nashville) can crazy with the offers. Remember when the leafs got a first, Brendan Leipsic and Jokinen for Franson and Santorelli...

Also IMO JVR would be the best rental available...
