Although the trades might be fair, the problem is with the cap next year. Abdelkaker is due to make 4.2m and Vatanen 3.0m plus Mrazek's new contract.

Thought of that, but you'll have Quincy off the books, hopefully Howard, and then after that Datsuyk's 7M will either be gone (retires back to Russia), or reduced with a new deal. Once I get time, I'll continue this for the next couple seasons.

Yup pretty solid trades. I think the Hartnell trade might need a little sweetening in CLB's direction. Sure he signed for 4 more years but the guy hasn't slowed down a single step and is a power forward who produces offensively. Those are to acquire. Columbus has other options if they want to dump salary. Tyutin, Calvert, etc.

The Vatanen trade is a hard one......Vatanen is definitely a good offensive dman but I have to think Nyquist is worth more then that. They'll both have about the same salary next year so that's moot but if I have to choose between the two, I'd keep Nyquist.

Pretty reasonable deals. I feel like CBJ would have to get a better pick and Ducks would maybe have to add a later pick. I value Nyquist a little bit higher.
