Why though? Montreal rids themselves of a massive contract. Luongo is destined to become an LTIR player the last few years of his contract. Montreal gets a wealth of picks and a true #1C they’ve been conveting for years. Florida has good organizational depth that they could realistically afford to replace barkov albeit at a slight downgrade in the interim.

I might be wrong, but believe GoBruins meant it was terrible for Florida. Quite an assumption that Luongo is going on LTIR, either way that 15m of goalies for Florida. No it's bad trade for Florida,

Price was Diagnosed with an illness.
honestly i'd be happiest if he only played Home Games for the rest of the season and focused on working with Doctors to get back to 100% next year.
let Niemi and Lindgren do road games increasing their value at the same time .

Waive DLR and keep 3 goalies
DLR is a career 4th liner there is no potential there because his skating for his size may ok but his stamina is **** which makes him a Matteau type in my books without the attitude issues

plus Mcniven is a puck moving goalie i want to see Price Mentor before he leaves.
Flip Price in 5 years when most of his Salary is Paid and i can think of 6-7 small market teams
who would fight over eachother for a goalie like Price (he wont get a crazy return back but he'll still get a respectable haul as even 38 year old Tim Thomas got a 2nd pick )

cap only matters if we spend it

our fans are douchebags its why Spezza blocked a trade here , Kesler Declined ,Staal took way less to avoid MTL ,Panarin opted to Join CHI and Shipachyov killed his career by going to VGK.
people would rather fail in smaller markets generally then play for fans who Jeer Carey Price and harass his Wife because at the time they didnt know he was Sick just saw a star struggling and buried him .
(no doubt Price regrets signing a year early after they went at Angela )

remember our fans are the Prejudice ones who gather a Mob outside the arena because we hired Cunneyworth Interim and he refused to learn French for a few month stint .
as long as molson owns MTL Canadiens he'll always be swayed by the angry mob to protect beer sales which is why our best years Drafting in this Millennium were under MR Gillette's ownership.
he hires the best for the Job like the Bronfmans did when they took ownership and built the 1970's Dynasty with Pollock thru Drafting the best not just French

I see all the disagreement and if i was montreal hell yes id move price for as big a bounty as i could get. If thats barkov and he is a stud then good. I like the trade but florida probably says no.
