Description
---- If Mac is traded at the deadline, he's going to Tampa. With their current salary cap situation, they only have a small window for a cup with the team they have. Dotchin is a great defensive Dman who could slot in next to Shat. Raddysh is a blue chip prospect that the Lightning don't need.

---- Nash to NSH makes sense for both sides. Another team fighting for a run at the Cup again and need a two way wing to slot in next to Turris or Bonino.

---- The Stars need scoring depth. If Benn, Segs, or Rad aren't on their game then they have zero scoring otherwise. Zucc could play second line minutes and provide that depth they need. With an already stacked, young D-line, Heiskanen can be dealt for an immediate upgrade at wing. Heavy price to pay but the Stars need consistency and that's Zuc in a nutshell. Consistently puts up 50-60 point seasons.

---- Desh to Pitt is unlikely but the best destination for him. Better players that the Pens could sign but they want that third/fourth liner center for the playoffs. Desh could be their answer if other options become unavailable.

---- Kings are an interesting suitor for Grab. With Carter injured, they desperately need more scoring on the wing. They already have the best PK, so adding Grabner will only make it even more elite.

---- St. Louis could use the defensive help with Holden. Another team that needs the help for a Cup run. Gelinas was once dealt for a 3rd round pick, so I think a 3rd for Holden is very reasonable.

---- If Kovy wants to be in NY, then absolutely sign him if the term and price is fair. Would be a great mentor for Buchnevich and with Kovy at LW, that would give the Rangers a fairly deep core at that position.

I think that's close to the deal that happens with TBL. Raddysh is a blue chip prospect who has a great chance to make the NHL. His numbers in the OHL are solid and his was fantastic during the World Juniors. Dotchin has unreal advanced stats and would be perfect next to Shat. I don't know what your problem is with that. However, I would prefer Mac to be dealt at the draft to a western conference team where his stock might be a bit larger.

No interest in Raddysh, sluggish skater who is poor at defense, padding points by parking himself in front of the goal. Dotchin is Connor Carrick. A nice possession guy sure. But We can have Connor Carrick for cheap. Tampa and Boston don't have a prospect inside the Pronman top 50, which indicates ceiling, You need top line or top pair talent coming back for a top 20 D man. End of story.

Blue Chips mean top 30 prospects. Cody Glass, Nick Suzuki, Eric Brannstrom, Jordan Kyrou, Robert Thomas, Timothy Liljegren, Eeli Tolvanen, etc etc. Raddysh is trash compared to these guys. Not a centerpiece.

I do not read any ESPN coverage of the NHL. I don't like Pronman as a writer, or an analyst so maybe that's where the divide is for our opinions. I believe Raddysh is a top 50-75 prospect in the NHL and has great offensive upside. And the Rangers need a player of Dotchin's caliber, especially for Shat. But like I stated before, this is the trade I picture TBL and NYR to make IF its at the deadline. Otherwise he'll be dealt at the draft and then MAYBE another team can provide a better deal. I believe that it's more likely he gets dealt at the draft.

I agree with the notion that the Rangers are desperate for possession positive players. They have the worst possession numbers in the league as of now. Just think the easiest way to do this is to start with an absolute stud prospect and build around it. Just don't think Raddysh is enough of a stud to build around. Point yes, Serg yes. But I don't think Tampa is parting with those pieces.

Rangers could accomplish this too just by buying out Staal, getting rid of Kampfer and Holden, and bringing up the kids. In addition, if you wanted to sign a positive possession guy like Alex Biega, or Mackenzie Weegar, or even Radko Gudas that's a move. But Dotchin just doesn't have enough ceiling either to build a trade around.

Oh god no Radko please. Those guys have positive possession numbers BUT they aren't going up against the top talent every single night. Dotchin is, and he puts up fantastic defensive numbers. He's essentially a Stralman like player circa 2014. As long as the kids come up next season and not this current one then I'm all for it. But Dotchin IS a kid still. 23 years old and can still play heavy minutes on the first line with Shat and he'd be incredibly affordable.
