Right. The title said "selling." That's how the Oilers get eight picks in the first three rounds of next year's draft. That should translate into about four good long term players pretty soon (and four duds).

It might not be the right move for a team with two great offensive players locked up long term that's only three spots out of the playoffs, especially when teams like San Jose and Chicago aren't getting much younger. But this does show what selling is.

NYI desperately need defense. They give up the most goals in the East, so they absolutely should pay a ton of picks/prospects for a solid player like Klefbom. Washington is also in the market for a left handed defenseman, but would probably prefer to give back an established player, to stay under the salary cap. If the Oilers are selling, that wouldn't work.
