One of my wishes for fellow Blackhawks fans is to remember ex-Blackhawks as they were when they were with the team, helping them win Stanley Cups. Then leave them as memories & understand they might not be as good or as valuable as they were 2-5 seasons ago.
Shaw makes $5M per season. It's an overpay for a bottom 6 forward. His trade value is meh at best. I'm sure Montreal would be happy to trade him away, and I'm sure Edmonton would not value him in a trade very highly. I'm not sure if Hartman & Rutta are supposed to be the sweeteners in order for them to take on Shaw's contract because one would need to sweeten the deal. If they are, one should add another packet or 2 of sugar (aka draft picks).
Seabrook's contract is too long for an opposing GM to take it on. How do they explain to the owner and a fan base that they've traded for a bottom pair Dman at $6M per, and keep their job? Leadership isn't worth 6M per.
