Both of these deals are trash. RNH for McDonagh is pretty much a wash, so you want Pulijujarvi and a lottery pick in exchange for a rental Rick Nash in a year when the Oilers are nowhere near the playoffs.

Then, you want a Vezina candidate and stud rookie for 3 guys who could clear waivers.

Yeah Rick Nash isn't waiving for Edmonton that has a 0% chance of making the playoffs, Get real here plus all Canadian teams are on his no trade list.

The Winnipeg trade is extremely lopsided. You can't just decide that you will trade your bad players and get good players in return because it doesn't work like that.

Rick Nash brings ZERO value as a rental to Edmonton because they are nowhere near the playoff race and Edmonton won't be able to afford his next contract with McDavid's extension taking affect next year. So basically you are trading McDonagh for RNH, their top prospect (Jesse Puljujarvi) and a first round pick that will ultimately be in the top 10. McDonagh is definitely not worth that much.
