    Very insightful comeback

I gave you stats on every player drafted his year and the 3 subsequent drafts that have scored more than he has, I've also cited specific former leafs prospects that have done well in the AHL.

    you have nothing.

he has 3 more nhl points than I do. this is the 4th year since he was drafted. he is on the verge of being a bust.

Okay. Now I know you are talking out of your ass....

Kapanen is the best skater on the Leafs. No question whatsoever, he beats out Matthews, Marleau, Nylander, Marner no question in that regard. It has never been an issue so I have no idea what you are talking about.

And the second completely wrong thing you said. His defensive game is good. When he is called up he plays the PK regular and is not a liability whatsoever 5v5. He hasn't had a line mate other than Matt Martin, the Goat or Moore. Yet he is still able to create chances off his speed.

You lost all credibility right there, It shows you have no knowledge whatsoever about the player.

    Wow, you are delusional

The Leafs are overloaded with talent on the wings, it isn't his fault that established NHLers have those spots. When he is called up he is put on the 4th line playing with Moore and Martin. It is a miracle he could even get a few points.

Cory Pronman is not a credible source and nor is he (Kapanen) 15th on his most recent list on The Athletic. He is in the mid-twenties I believe.

    Wow, you are delusional

Nope. as you can see in the bottom two paragraphs you have all been spewing bull crap. My favorite is whoever said his skating and defensive game is a problem lol. Your guys credibility to me is very low, anybody can spew random **** and call people delusional

Per Cory Pronman of the Athletic and ESPN

    15. Kasperi Kapanen, RW, Toronto

    Age: 21 | Height: 6-foot | Weight: 181 pounds

Drafted: First round, 22nd overall in 2014 by Pittsburgh

    2017-18 team: Toronto Marlies

There is a lot to like about Kapanen. When you see him play, his high-level ability stands out immediately. He’s a fantastic skater who can play a skill game and push the pace at even strength. He can dominate a shift and be a difference maker in a game with his playmaking. He’s right on the cusp of being a regular due to a logjam on the wing in Toronto. He has made significant improvements to his defensive game. Just getting him to be a tad more consistent and stronger in battles off the puck will likely push him over the edge into being a good NHL player.

    Per Wheeler of the Athletic

    2. Kasperi Kapanen, RW, 21 (Toronto Marlies)
By his recent standards, Kapanen is off to a slow start this season with three goals in six games with the Marlies. Still, dating back to his 20th birthday, Kapanen has 54 points and 150 shots in 58 AHL games, good for a 76-point pace and 2.6 shots per game as one of the youngest players in the league in that span. Last season, the only players in the AHL of similar age to Kapanen who produced at or near his offensive clip (Brendan Perlini and Kevin Labanc, who are both older than Kapanen) are now full-time NHL players. Kapanen shouldn't be far behind. He remains one of the best skaters (if not the best) in the Leafs organization. He has the skill and pace to be an excellent NHL winger, even if we've only seen it in flashes so far in his young career. In his last 17 games under Leafs head coach Mike Babcock, Kapanen has played more than 13:40 minutes only once. The game was April 15, 2017. He was on the ice for 16:30 minutes, scored two goals, picked up four shots, finished with a plus-2 rating and scored the playoff overtime winner.

He is not credible. If you are familiar with his work, a ton of his rankings are subjectively based. For example, he has Robert Thomas at No. 6 and Morgan Frost at 31. There is not a difference of 25 spots between those two. Any rational actor can see that that difference in ranking makes no logical sense.

He was 15, my apologies. I must have been referencing another list. Maybe Craig Buttons from a little over a year ago.

Either way, Kapanen is not the 15th best prospect in the NHL. No chance. His ceiling is nothing more than 2W.

I don't think the title of another individual makes them more credible than another individual. Analysis should be based on objective views, not based on title. Pronman's rankings are basically a list of who he wants to shine bright. Any rational actor can analyze his list and notice a disparage between Robert Thomas at 6 and Morgan Frost at 7. Even STL fans agree @AK_tune

He doesn't watch these guys for an extended look; he isn't a region specific scout. Last year he had Nolan Patrick ranked ahead of Kirill Kaprizov on the list of top prospects. Now he has Adam Fox at 16, among other atrocities.

Pronman is a subjective writer when it comes to these rankings. Taking them as Gospel is equally idiotic as his rankings.

If you look at his past rankings, he is usually right a lot of the time. No man can be 100% right on prospects. However he hits a lot of them.

I don't watch TOR games, thats why I use this source.

Your source only states his average PK TOI. Thats not his aggregate PK TOI. My source, a well known advanced hockey tracker, shows that he has yet to record a full minute of PK TOI. So what your source is saying he averages 46 seconds of PK TOI thru 8 games, while not having more than one minute. His aggregate PK TOI is literally 46 seconds.

    no......It is average per game

    https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/statistics

6 mins and 40 seconds of PK time through 8 games

And watching a lot of Leafs games I can tell you that this is correct

Time to use a new stat tracker site..........

    [(6 x 60) + (40)]/[8] = 50 seconds/game. Kapanen is at 46 seconds a game. Something is off based on those two.

That column doesn't make any sense. Looking at Shayne Gostisbehere's stats, it shows he has 3:55 PPTOI over 45 games or 5.22 seconds per game, yet he has 18 power play points. My source has him at 141 minutes played.

Your source is either wrong or you are interpreting the data incorrectly.

Not a real salary cap for 2018/19. Performance bonuses not carried over from 2017/18. If the Leafs need all there cap with expected major signings of 2018/19, the 2018/19 performance shouldn't be carried over to 2019/20.
Lou isn't sign Kovo. Jersey hoisted Kovo the Devils for star power years ago. Leafs and Lou don't need to spend 8m on him.

Sorry, that 5,400,000 shows potential bonuses for 2018/19. It has not included in the salary cap of 2018/19 because the team has option of when it paid,,,,this current year or the next. And one of the rules of performance bonuses is your LTIR players, Hortons 5.25m salary have to included on the opening day roster. There reality is if the Leafs want no performance bonus carried over into 2019/20, their UFA signing in 2018/19 can only be about 8m.

He has played 6 mins and 40 seconds of PK time, I have showed you two sources.

And a third one.....My own eyes. He has been on the PK every game he has played in since I can remember.

So Ghost has played less than 4mins and has 18 points...
