I think he addressed the rental part in the explanation, pick turns into a 1st. that deal is not as far off as you make it sound.

Of the deals you've proposed, the only one I like is JVR to Calgary. The problem I see, beyond trade value, is that if Calgary is serious about making a playoff run, they would need Dougie Hamilton. I just do not see him being available for anything less than one of our big 3, who seem to be pretty untouchable.

Okay I see the conditions with resigning but still not worth Hamilton in my opinion.

Ya, ok pal. JVR is a guaranteed 20 to 30 goals per year. Freddie has scored 4 total...you can disagree all you want but it's nowhere near as far off as you want to think it is. To get him, when he was 22, Boston traded the 15th pick and two 2nd round picks. The pieces in this deal are better than that if JVR were to resign.

dougie hamilton is a top 4 d man, and is only 25. he is 6'6, skates well, can score, quarterback a pp and can and is a rhd. u must be out of ur mind to think that the package being offered is even close to his value

The Flames don't have a pressing need for forwards right now, top three lines are okay once Frolik and eventually Versteeg return. Need Dougie more than JVR at the moment. Could I however interest you in a lightly used Mike Stone?

Yep. 27 in 2014 and 29 in 2016. Thus the reason I said a guaranteed 20 to 30 every year.
