If you're talking realistic, I don't know why the Leafs are even in the conversation. Doubtful that the Leafs are in Conference Finals contention this year or next, so what's the point of giving up futures. Just thinking there might be better deals for Ottawa that the Leafs would make.

I cannot see any scenario in which these teams would be trade partners. They are direct competition and play each other 6 times a year I believe? No way Leafs would entertain such a conversation. If Karlsson was somehow in the plans (salary cap wise), I think they'd try to remain patient and hope he gets to free agency. Only way Karlsson would ever don a Leafs jersey.
