Why does Maatta sign so low? A lot of teams would love to offer-sheet him for a lot more.
They can offer him 5 million and only have to give up a 1st and 3rd if we don't match. I think Maatta is worth that to a dozen different teams.

Because Maatta isnt worth 5 million. 3.5 mil is about right, but maybe 4 mil works as well, but definitely not 5. I know that, you know that, and Maatta knows that. He will sign with the pens before July 1st, so it doesnt matter what these "dozen different teams" think he is worth.
