Uh, what is this? There's absolutely no way you're getting Bailey for 4.5 MIL. Markov is 39 years old. Bergevin made the right call by letting him go and now he's back? And why the hell would Chicago want Andrew Shaw back?

100% agree with you on Bailey. He's looking at $6M or $7M. (Toronto must be drooling at the prospect, esp. if JVR is leaving). And Tavares, on the chance he goes UFA, negotiations will start at $12M and go from there. And, if he's willing to play for $2.5M, don't you think San Jose will want to keep its captain?

Not sure I agree on Shaw for a second, but Habs would surely have to eat 50% of the salary.

apparently, but not suprisingly, shaw could be very valuable on a stanley cup contending team. he has 2 cups worth of experience, can be used on pp, pk, and is only 26. 3.9mill is not bad considering, he can score 20 a season.

I agree. It drives me nuts the degree of slagging about Shaw the player that really should only be directed at his contract. Is he $1M too expensive? Absolutely. Does he suck? Not a bit. I hope he gets traded to a team that eliminates the Leafs in the first round. Maybe then he'd receive some of the respect he's due.

laugh laugh shakes head No cap increase Tavares gets closer to $12 million Josh Bailey around $6.5 million to $7 million Joe Thornton $6 million you way underpaid these players. And they're not signing with a Montreal team that has a greater shot of drafting Dahlin then winning the cup any time soon.

"Can score 20" and "Will score 20" are two very, very different things. He scored 20 five seasons ago. He hasn't topped 15 since. As for bringing experience, I'm not really sure that the Hawks are too worried about "lack of playoff experience" at this point...

As for the Alzner trade, hard to imagine anyone is going to come in and save you from that contract without you taking something equally as bad back.

If Shaw is as good as you're describing, you should tell the other Habs fans on here to stop with the trades, because you'll need him next year on your cup run w/Tavares, Karlsson, Doughty, Bailey, Thornton, Gretzky and Brett Hull...I remember a couple of years ago when Leafs fans were doing this same exercise. It's very entertaining for outsiders.

Edit: Give David Poile a call...he'll probably go Weber for Subban straight up...he might even toss a draft pick in there...

1st of all he is on pace for 20 plus goals this season. secondly, i don't think any of these trades are realistic, so im not supporting. thirdly, u sound like a salty leafs fan. and while we're at it, mtl should sign bergeron, mcdavid, kopitar and stamkos, for the hell of it
