hmm seems like a low rating just cause you hate flyers, if you pay attention to the nhl at all Green's price isnt a high pick especially with his 6 mill cap hit. Nice try though pens fan have fun with your declining Crosby.

Congratulations.

You figured it out! Crosby does suck! I do hate Philly! I hate Philly and that’s why DET doesn’t do that trade! You figured it out! It’s not like it doesn’t make sense for DET at all but yay!

lol why would DET consider this even, they will get a 1st at the deadline. And they have to take on Macdonalds’s contract with only a 3rd coming back.

Think before you post.

I do think but it doesn't seem like you don't, Mike Green is not what he used to be and will at most command a late round pick. You are foolishly basing his value on what he could do 3 years ago. MacDonald may be the joke of the NHL for his contract but he is a serviceable defenseman to a team that is rebuilding, which is what Detroit is right now.

This overall is an intelligent trade for both sides you just need to get rid of your bias to realize that.

Okay, if my bias against Philly is so bad, ask DET fans how they feel about it. You’ll get the same response.

Caps fan here. But you're still wrong. Green just got into the All Star game. Has 24 points in 41 games with 1 more year on his contract. MacDonald has 6 points in 27 games and is terrible possession wise and has 3 years left on a bad contract. PHI would have to add a lot more to get Green.

Green is on pace for 48 points this year as a right shot dman, who can QB a powerplay. He will bring back a late 1st or 2 2nds. Detroit doesn't need serviceable defensemen right now, they desperately need cap space. This is a ridiculous offer.

You and everyone else knows that there are many other defenseman more deserving than Green to be an allstar this year. His selection was purely a pick to make sure Detroit was represented.

For example a player like Mikhail Sergachev is more deserving but would not get selected due to 4 TBL players already being selected.

I will admit that the Flyers would probably retain salary but again this deal is SOLID.

Saying they need cap space is hilarious they need to trade old players for picks, doing this deal does that as long as the Flyers retain salary as well. In no world is he worth a 1st and he would be a 2PP guy on any playoff team.

Him being at a near 50 pt year this year means nothing offense this year is spiking and point totals are inflated.

Funny how every commenter telling you that you're delusional doesn't even slightly shift your perspective. If Green is so mediocre, why do you even want him? Maybe time to lay off the drugs and think objectively.

As a Flyers fan this would be awesome but no way DET does this.

if you're going to say AMac is terrible position wise you might as well say that about Green. Both are net negative players and over 50% of Green's points are on the PP - something AMac doesn't get so it's pointless to compare points against each other too. AMac isn't better but Green isn't that great either. Green has 9 primary points and AMac has 6. That's pathetic for Green honestly lol.

I see what Philadelphia gets out of this. I guess I just don't see what Detroit gets. Can someone help me understand that?
