Description

The NYI, makes sense for the Isle, they have to shed some cap space in order to sign Tavares. So with patch they are still dangerous offensively and with 2M retained It is a GREAT deal. Habs have so many LW... a RW could really help.

Pleck is UFA next season, so the 3M will be available to sign JT. Also He is a great Center who plays against every best line in the league... Good for a team with the most GA in the league. Depth at Center could be great for a playoff run... just sayin'.

So pleck and 5M retained total for a first is not a bad deal.

The EDM trade: I have mix feelings about this...

Chucky needs a change of scenery, and is a terrific goal scorer when paired with a good passer (aka Radulov)

RNH is a player similar to Chucky as they are both inconsistent players in terms of effort.

so a one on one trade where both team have a need, EDM at the LW and MTL at Center (that way Drouin can go back at the wing

Well we have none right now... we have Drouin, but he is not doing the job. RNH is a natural center. which would bring Drouin back on the wing?

You mean other than that isn't enough coming back to get patches alone, not to mention plekanec or the salary retained.

I do not think the oilers issues are player issues, well a healthy and reliable goalie would certainly help but I believe it is the chemistry of lack there of, between the HC and a few of the top players.
