You're wrong. It's definitely not close to the value of Kane especially with money retained, but you're exaggerating the point. Blais did very well in AHL last year as a 20-yo rookie (26g-17a-43pts) and he's on the Blues this year, just injured at the moment. Husso is the goalie after Allen, he's a great prospect.

What sounds fair to you for Kane? Barbashev + Schmaltz + 2019 1st?

2019 1st, Fabbri, Jaskin, 2018 3rd is probably the best we can do, but I don't know if that's enough. BUF likely wants that first sooner, but 2019 is supposed to be a good draft so who knows if STL even wants to trade it. You'd have to get BUF to take on Gunnarsson, too, so that might mean another pick. I don't think Kane is worth all that, especially without a signed contract beyond this season.
